Great, starting to tip toe into maturity with earthy forest floor and mushroom at first that gives way to harmonious currants and cassis, mocha, toast and a long, silky Margaux finish.

Second from Brane-Cantenac. The aromatics are there but in the mouth it's texturally lacking with faded fruit, low acidity, almost creamy mouthfeel. Meh.

Soft tannins, and smooth, could use more fruit. Expected better from '05 vintage.

Ready.
Strong Merlot notes.
Really enjoyed this with garlicky sauce after decanting.
