Wow, still very young! Great concentration, spectacular purity of fruit, elegant and lively! Love the tobacco and cedar notes surrounded by dark cherry and ripe plum. Very good acidity and a long chocolate finish @Delectable Wine

Tasting from Jim Brady's cellar at the Elwood suite in the sax hotel. Still has fruit and life.

This 41 yr old LLC was still fresh & drinking well showing a little funk in the beginning that quickly blew off with notes of red & black fruits, currant, cedar, leather, forest floor & tobacco leaf.

A bit past it’s prime but the bones are still there. Delicious.

Our other Thanksgiving wine. A bit dried out, but a lovely bouquet. Good cork. Of the recent Leovilles, I prefer the 78 Barton, and next the 81 Las Cases. This comes in third, but not shabby at all!

1979...decanted ~1hr and doesn't need a longer decant. Still some fruit here but brilliant menthol and smokiness. Light body despite bold red color. Enjoyable but after 2.5 hrs had definitely faded. Careful with the cork though too.
