What a thrill to try this 1967 Conterno Barolo. One could write all day about the many qualities of this wine, but two characteristics really stand out. The first is the distinctive briney quality. The second is the wonderful dry ice tea element that is so attractive in older Conternos. Just terrific.

'67. Fresh and powerful. A nebbiolo lover's paradise. Raisin, spice, smoke, tobacco, dried plum, soy. Needed much air to come around. A joy to drink. Not for the faint of heart.. #nebbiolo

The experience is what I'm rating here...absolutely no color left, like white Nebbiolo. Amazing subtly, nuttiness and sweet character. A bit of an amari note, dried fruit, warm spice, waffle cone, still structure albeit gentle. Amazing experience.
