This 18 year old beauty is a great example of the Tertiary flavors that appear in Pinot with age. It has this crazy embers nose and flavor that sits over strawberry/raspberry fruit. It's riveting. .

The first attacks are smokey and little bit strong spicy flavor. After about an hour, these tastes became mild and silky.
Good marriage is light wash cheese with honey marinade nuts. So happy pairing!

1999 vintage. Medium tawny with browning on rim. Manure and black fruits - blackberry dominant - on the nose. In the palate, savoury spices and leather, fresh earth and manure. High acidity, medium alcohol and medium tannins that are quite chalky. There is a bit of a drying finish which spoils the wine somewhat for me. Medium length due to the drying.
