Estate Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir

Impromptu meet up at Classic!

Know nothing of this producer. Whoa...whole cluster here? Spicy, crunchy and bramble driven. Very Sta Rita Hills. Rhubarb and cedar smoked nose. The palate is less complex than I expected based on the nose, but it’s still floral with an added cranberry sauce finish.

Don't try this after a good Burgundy. It's clean but also a bit short and sweet.

Excellent wine. Fruity and smooth.

I know it's frowned upon but I like a nice ripe southern Cali Pinot and this one didn't disappoint. Sour cherry, cola and smooth. Needed some time to open up really shines on day 2

Definite Sta. fruit. Fresh tart red berries with stemmy licorice flavors. More rounded and mouthful than previous bottle. 1h decant likely added to the weight and stony fruit minerality balance. QPR is a bit in question but the flavors and palate are not.

Second time I have had the 100% whole cluster in that last couple months. Was drinking it with some friends that had never had the Wenzlau. It was a winner around the table.
