Domaine Michel Lafarge
Les Caillerets Volnay 1er Cru Pinot Noir

Pretty and light on the nose. Blue and red fruit, some fresh salinity and minerality. On the palate this is starting to drink well. Cool flavors, some stone and generous but restrained fruit with a hint of iodine.

Pure ruby color with a reticent nose with rose, plum, violet. Lovely delicate palate. A little wound up at the moment. Good balance- not a showstopper but probably a good life ahead

Hints of red fruits on the nose. Ash and minerality round out the palette. Decant for at least 30 minutes. Pairs well with savory and spicy.

This was a lovely wine with bright red cherry, strawberry aromas with similar flavors all composed within an excellent, modest framework of acid and tannins for '08; actually drinking well now although can hold. But why when it drinks so easily?
