Tasted blind. Medium gold color, heavy in the glass. Tropical nose. Notes of pineapple, citrus, petrol, grass, light colored earth and some ginger. Super ripe with decent acidity. Heavy in the mouth, coats the palette. Very rich. Comes across as an aged, rich, oily Sancerre with that grassy note so I go with a guess of 2000 Dagueneau Silex.

Tasted blind. Medium gold color. Nice weight with an enticing nose. Notes of citrus, toast, clay, river stone and pit fruit. Rich and palate staining in the mouth. Seems young. I guess 02 Leflaive Combettes. We were all surprised with the reveal as a few of us have had this bottle a dozen times or more and we didn’t guess it. This bottle had many years of life in front of it yet. Great stuff!

The wife is making fish so I oblige with this pull. Amber gold, a bit darker than past bottles of this which I’ve had several times. Viscous and heavy in the glass. A nice nose, it doesn’t appear to come across as old on the first smells. Notes of apricot, white stone, some spice and a little citrus. Great acidity and texture in the mouth. With a few hours of air it even gets a bit chewy and more powerful in its impact. Great showing for the color.

Medium gold color. Great mineral driven nose. Notes of citrus, apricot skin, dusty light colored earth, some tan spice and some gravel stone. Big and rich in the mouth. Still has a big core of fruit with some serious structure to match. Long and lasting finish. Has a heaviness to it. Bottles like this one have several great years in front of it yet.

Light gold, looks young for its age. Nice heavy weight. Fruit forward nose. Notes of citrus, dried tangerine, apricot, dirty stone and clay, some spice. Great mouth feel with fruit and structure in balance. Long finish. Had this multiple times and this was one of the better ones.

A bit more than medium gold. Heavy in the glass. Great leesy nose. Notes of apricot, ginger, orange marmalade, tan spice and gravel. Ripe fruit. Fat with light acidity. This bottle was in great shape. Mele Kalikimaka!

Medium gold and heavy in the glass. Great old burg nose from the get go. Notes of ginger, apricot, white clay, tan spice, and some cardamom. Rich and viscous in the mouth. Modest acidity. Similar to other bottles I’ve had of this, this is still delivering a great experience. Tasty finish. Still holding on, but not forever.

From a good looking bottle with a nice fill. Medium gold. Moves swiftly and heavily in the glass. Great nose immediately. Notes of lemon peel, apricot, orange, tan spice, crushed white stone and a little ginger. Crazy in the mouth. Tons of zip and acidity with sweet fruit to match. Layers of enjoyment. Best showing of the many bottles I’ve had of this. Yum.
