Established in 1971 when Giovanni Neri acquired a large estate within Montalcino. Just opened another ‘06, which spent about 45 months on oak. Aromas of ripe dark fruits with complex spice and oak notes. On the palate black cherry and blackberry take over giving in to notes of sweet oak and an array of spice. Soft tannins, well balanced with great mouthfeel, drinking nicely ending with sweet fruit and oak. Very nice! Still have an ‘03 in Cellar!!

Definitely more new world style. Cedary oak complements concentrated black and red fruit with tertiary notes of graphite and sweet tobacco.

Wow, 12 years old and fresh as if a 2013. Intense color and nose flavors like a super Tuscan and many more years ahead.

I liked this, especially with about 90 minutes of air. Tart cherries, red currants, and black tea on a mid-weight frame, with moderate acidity and mostly integrated tannins. Good pairing with penne w/pork ragú. However, my wife liked it less than I did.

Hitting pause on cellar pruning tonight, in consideration of our away Amigo, I couldn't resist popping one of these at the Club tonight. Tons of tannin at the open, but 20 minutes in glass.....wow....dark chocolate, berries, tobacco...fantastic juice! 20 second finish, just a classic Brunello. Loved it....have 2 more, and they could last 5+ years without a doubt!

Outstanding brunello. One of my favorites. Well balanced. Smokey. Bacon. Long finale.

Rich and long. Chocolate cherries. Full bodied cigar notes with Espresso. Elegant and powerful. Drink within 3 years.
