99 Grivots are controversial because of the influence of Accad on winemaking. This was fresh and lively, but loads of black fruit and still very primary on the nose. On the palate, rather extracted and a touch dense, with loads of hard candy flavors...Dense and tannic finish. Still kind of a bruiser.

Jan 6th, 2019Needed 2 hrs to open up. A beautiful hint of funk on the nose, with loads of red cherry and sweet tobacco. On the palate, a bit dried out, but dusty red fruit, still some grainy drying tannin on the finish, which is fairly woody. Ok, but if this bottle is representative, doesn't seem like it has the fruit to support the tannin with significant additional age.
