Faro Nerello Blend

Solid showing but not as spectacular as other bottles I’ve tried. Oxidized on night two, so likely opened at the right time.

Super good, light, delicious, complex, challenging.

Lucious, delicate, powerful. So many layers. Enjoyed the day sharing this with others.

2007

This wine surprised me. I expected it to taste like Etna Rosso. Instead, it was a very strong wine like an Aglianico or Nero d’Avola, despite the fact that the bottle was from 2007. This wine needed hours of decanting to lose its overpowering flavor. The wine needs to be consumed with steak, not pizza or cheese. I was worried it would be washed out, but this wine could go another 5 years. Nose is balsamic and pepper, and palette begins with intense dark fruit and ends in pepper.

heavily oaked but still a largely elegant wine. Age has done it a service, if only we could all say the same

Tart cherry and chewy tannins with aromas of jasmine and sweet oak

Out of Magnum, young but stunning. Wonderful aromatics of earth and spice. Nerello Mascalese is a varietal with wonderful aging potential

Earthy complex nose. I am thinking berries (maybe cherries) & warm spices. Delish

Tried upon opening and then finished it the next day. So much more appreciation for this wine after watching it evolve over night. Lovely surprise.
