Tasting of nine 1996 Cabernets, Merlots and Bordeaux blends from California, Bordeaux and Australia. The Lewis came through as expected with classic pepper nose. My #2

Another 4th Friday for the books! Insane pulls this month to follow up the most epic month (April) that we’ve ever had!

My contribution. Everything about this wine was in harmony. Been a long time since I’ve had a Napa wine that I’ve enjoyed at its most peak drinking window. Still quite full bodied...blind, would have guessed MAYBE ‘07-‘08. Blue fruit, cassis, nutmeg and shaved cocoa powder on the nose. Palate was mainly dark chocolate dates, blue and black fruit fruit, baking spice, and a supremely delicious finish. If you have this, no rush to open, but you are missing out on its most prime drinking window. Total treat.

03' Lewis Reserve Cabernet. This is an 03 😳? I would suggest pop & pour…the sentiment is a bit heavy. Decant & drink. Edit- 30 minute decant is best. Loving the wine!
Drink them up in the next 3/5 years . Cheers!

97' Lewis Reserve Cabernet. Pop & pour. Let it open up in the glass. Even on the decline it's drinking very nice. It still has good acidity & red/black fruit. Drink them up.

Too drunk to post a report. Good though too expensive. Find a better wine at half the price or pass out trying.

2004 Lewis L - I'm a big fan of Lewis. The 04 L is not my favorite. I do recommend drinking what you have by 2017.
