This is Is it very nice Cabernet Franc from Columbia Valley. Showing blue and red fruits, oak, licorice, chocolates, spices, light vegetables, bell pepper and peppercorn.

Medium-plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate and smooth.

Good by itself or with food. Good right out of the bottle, and becomes earthier as it opens up (1 hour).

I had it blind and called Washington State Merlot 2017. I was a little off.

I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.

13.4% alcohol by volume.

89 points.

$37.

One of my favorite Cab Francs. Seems very light with such a high alcohol content. Have rated this one before

Pure Columbia Valley Cab Franc. Not the easiest to ripen CF in the Pacific Northwest but they manage. Pepper, cloves, raspberry, black cherry. Velvety structure. Pretty good. Needs steak. #wbc18 @Delectable Wine

A few of you suggested that I do a Cabernet Franc Wednesday, so I decided to try it for a few weeks, and I'm going to start with a bang...

Dark ruby in color with a purplish rim.

Great nose of blueberries, blackberries, earth, sweet plums, cherries, vanilla, leather, cedar, chocolates, cola, mocha, espresso, leather, peppercorn and spices.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, sweet cherries, raisins, vanilla, oak, licorice, spices, chocolates, smoke, peppermint, coffee, beef jerky, earth, cola, peppercorn, leather, tobacco and light vegetables.

Long finish with firm tannins and tangy raspberries.

What a great surprise. This Washington Cabernet Franc is well balanced, complex and interesting with lots of chocolate notes. Not much of the bell pepper notes, that I expected.

Showing a gentle mouthfeel with a nice ending. Delicious!

Wine Enthusiasts 87 Points.

A blend of 90% Cabernet Franc and 10% Merlot. Aged for 23 months in Oak barrels.

14.7% alcohol by volume.

93 points.

$30.

A touch of old world Cab Franc - iron, earth, high-tone acidity - along with more modern elements. Black Forest cake, mocha, and a rich texture. Non-traditional varietals are what Washington state does the best, IMO.

v15. Soft smoke and herbal nose. Dark blackberry and tar hints fruit. Long, dry, slightly tart earthy finish. Started strong.

Spent a weekend in Walla Walla and stumbled across this wine. Even my mom who doesn’t like red wine thought this wine was nice.
