Ames Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

Still pretty tannic. Some dark fruit at the start and tannins hit pretty hard. Definitely can still taste oak. Might come together but I'm not sure. In any case, if you've got some I'd cellar it longer. I gave this 2 plus hours in the decanter and it's hardly mellowed.

Grrrrreat wine

Beautiful vintage of Oakville. Definition of elegance with a floral sweet tobacco note and brown spices on the nose, mulled blackberries and blueberry, with a smooth, but not lingering finish. Smooth, well structured tannin, rounding up a very balanced wine.

2012 Ames Vyd - excellent! Bold w/ just the right amount of restraint

I’ve rated much higher in the past but it’s been a while. A little too much oak spice and vanilla throwing off the balance. Hopefully just dumb period. Pretty sure I’m having one of those…

Quality Napa cab. Still struggling with these Pina single vineyard compared to the Cahoots, but this is solid. Black fruit, mint and vanilla oak on the nose. Fairly well balanced but I will say the tannins overpower a bit on the palate. Nice finish. Again, will be getting more cahoots based solely on the balance.

I’m going to have such a hard time saving any bottles of this for the long haul. It’s amazing now.
