Apr 2nd, 2020A big, dense, low acid style. The savory kick and fine tannins give it enough character to keep it from feeling dull. Held up nicely over three days. Will work well for short term drinking - with cheese or as a nightcap glass.

Mar 30th, 2019The 2010 Chateau de Malleret is a rich wine with blackcurrent, leather and tar. I think it has benefited from a few years in bottle. Wines like this show the strength in depth of Bordeaux.

Aug 26th, 2017Impressively concentrated - some rough tannins, dark plum, herb, spices - cocoa, I'd like to try it with another 5 years of aging.

Dec 22nd, 2023Pretty happy with this Bordeaux blend but unhappy that I won't be able to buy at Costco again. Purchased almost 4 yrs ago. Enjoyed with cheesy tomatillo enchiladas with chizo, squash and spinach rice (courtesy of Blue Apron). This was nice and smooth, good bold dark fruit up front, some pepper and tobacco. Great price at $14.

Dec 5th, 2020Dark plum with light ruby accents. Five Spice, black fruits, and menthol on the nose. I drink a good bit of Bordeaux, especially Cru Bourgeois. Full bodied, dense tannins, and very nicely structured. Charred oak, blueberries, licorice, and vanilla on the palate. More Five Spice, forest floor, and tobacco follow. Longish finish with spice and a bit of sweetness. Unexpectedly fantastic, this is drinking so well right now.
