Pop & Pour. 15 minutes in the glass πŸ‘. Drinking wonderfully now! 3 + great years in front of it.

I really love this wine. Tasting consistent with prior notes - some leather and anise on the nose, the palate is fruit-driven with loads of black raspberry and cassis, not even a touch of green. Super smooth tannins. And despite the 15.4% abv, doesn’t come across as hot at all to me.

Andrew Geoffrey night with owner of AG - 11 year vertical tasting

Ok I know no wine is the picture but we did a vertical tasting of AG cabs from 2002 to 2013 and then 2009 Petite Verdot and 2013 Cab Franc

This is Peter Townsend the owner of AG who actually cooked last night- amazing food and wine

Crazy but my favs were the 2002 cab and 2013 cab for the cabs but the 06 and 05 were great as well BUT

The WOTN was the Cab Franc which they make about 50 cases and I had the 09 and it was fantastic but the 2013 is the BEST ever - the price is really good to -

Dark color great aromatic smells fantastic taste in my mouth with a beautiful finish. πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€ all night long

Prior notes remain. This is an incredible wine and an unbeatable QPR. If you like a more fruit-driven style of Cab Franc you should definitely try this. Lacks any of the green flavors that are common in cab franc. Great balance, as well.

This was so good. Small vineyard on Diamond Mountain. Fruit forward with raspberry and plum flavors and a hint of vanilla - lacked the greenness/herbal flavors you can get with a CF. this was medium bodied and despite the concentration of fruit it wasn't jammy or overly rich. A touch tannic but with some short time they smoothed out. There was a great acidity too. Between this and Dyer I'm noticing that they're doing some special things with CF on Diamond Mountain.

From the top of Diamond Mountain comes this extremely small production Cab Franc. It's a beast but in all the nice ways.

I will let others rate this as it was one of the wines I brought, but wanted to share the background on this as many have asked.

Minuscule 50 case production of 100% Cabernet Franc from a 13 acre estate on top of Diamond Mountain (most of the grapes are sold to Cardinale, Lokoya and Haber). This is aged two years in French oak (Sylvain), followed by two years in bottle. The Cab Franc makes up 13% of the vineyard and was planted from cuttings from Chateau Cheval Blanc!
