Found another bottle. Light ruby red with subtle aromas of red berry fruit with gentle earthy notes & floral scents. The 100% Pinot wine was aged for 17 months on French oak, (30% new), The wine was medium in weight with vivid focus of berry fruit, raspberry, cherry and cranberry, nothing overpowering. The wine had soft tannins surrounded by lively acidity and earthy minerals, giving the wine a remarkable balance. An elegant wine that is easy to drink, a real treasure, Top-notch! Only 814 cases made.

Glass tasting: Pinot noir #2 21/4-2016. Pleasantly smooth, yet somewhat lacking personality.

Nice to taste this Santa Maria Valley bottling alongside the Sta. Rita Hills one. Riper, darker fruits profile but there is still freshness here. Oak is more prominent. Earthier as well with light mushroom and tea leaf notes. Plush palate.
This is a more complex and deeper wine. But I prefer the Sanford bottling slightly.

Great anytime wine. I have had several years of this wine and while each a bit different all have been enjoyable to drink. Will continue to visit this wine every year.
