Taken to Tommy Bahamas at the Mauna Lani Shops on the Big Island. Light gold color. Amazing nose. Notes of lemon curd, gravel, citrus, wet stone, tan spice. Perfect balance of rich silky fruit and tingling acidity. This is really good juice.

A wonderful wine that needed a few hour decant. Lemon zest, linseed oil, pear and orange blossom. Lavender. More citrus and stones on the palate with good structure. Wonderful food wine that has aged perfectly.

After an 04 Boillot Corton Charlie I opened was clearly corked, this was popped in its place. I’ve found many 05 WBs to be one dimensionally rich and fruit forward, and more California like in style. This was that PLUS everything you like about WBs. I quickly realized this bottle was opened way too early in its journey. Light gold, good weight. Exciting nose. Notes of citrus, tangerine, chalky white stone, cloves, a little nutmeg and some vanilla. Great energy in the mouth. Massive core of fruit, supported by amazing structure and noticeable acidity. After 3 hours in a decanter, this was singing. Easily one of the best 05s I’ve opened and very memorable. This can likely gain a few more points in its rating with another 10 years of age. Have 1 more bottle, destined to be opened circa 2030!

Full bodied, white peach in your face batard. My impression boillot changed something in his process 4 to 5 years ago. The fines were much more mineral and sharp before, maybe more wood or more toasting now. Typical 2017, they drink well now.
