The 2019 Grand Vin is a Malbec with 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot from Vistalba and Las Compuertas and was barrel-aged for 16 months in 50% new oak. A vivid purple in the glass. The complex nose delivers dark fruit, plum, redcurrant, oak and stock hints. Creamy and broad with a fairly smooth texture and grippy, finely-grained tannins. The voluminous body is almost velvety in feel. An excellent balance has been achieved between the volume, acidity and alcohol. (Joaquín Hidalgo, Vinous, January 2023)

Iron fist in spiked leather glove. Big, licorice-y, mostly Malbec...but saved by its 100+ year-old-vine lift, refinement and balance. An NFL left tackle in a tutu.

2011 stunning after 2 days. Way better than all that Hobbs stuff that sells for 4 times the price . Black ink color-great richness and depth- great value at $50

Beautiful malbec blend from the lujan de cuyo region in Mendoza. Malbec, cab sav, merlot; 85/10/5. Big, bold, inky, and chewy. More Layers revealed after open for an hour.

Simply ridiculous. Brooding depth of flavors ranging from dark fruits to vanilla to town and set eased out over time. A pleasure to drink.

Oak has mellowed. Big and jammy, with plums, tar and tobacco. Malbec, with some Cab and Merlot.

Well made wine with lots of flavors vying for the spotlight. Should have written this up when I drank it. Soft and nice on its own- lightly oaked- which I tolerated- plummy with medium tannins.

This is yummy. Full bodied, nice finish. Needs some air though. And is better as you drink it.

Big, jammy, lots of blackberry and plum, some tannins at the end. Very soft for such an intense wine. Was quite grilled- steak worthy.
