Blend: 40% Sangiovese, 35%Cab Sauv & 25% Syrah, deep Ruby with aromas of dark berry fruits, cedar and floral notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry, currants and cherry with vanilla spice, espresso and leather. Fine tight rich tannins, long finish ending with fruit, tobacco and earthy mineral character. Banfi was founded in 1978 by the Italian-American brothers, John and Harry Mariani. A blend of Sangiovese, Cab Sauv & Syrah. Aromas of fruit herb and spice. On the palate ripe red jammy currant fruits, tangy spice and lively acidity. Fine tannins, medium finish ending with fruit and spice. Good now, should age well!

2016 vintage could be aged longer. Good balance and typical sangiovese wine.

Spiced. Taste buds are getting shot. Too many tastings, not enough grissini

Banfi was founded in 1978 by the Italian-American brothers, John and Harry Mariani. A blend of Sangiovese, Cab Sauv & Syrah. Aromas of fruit herb and spice. On the palate chewy red fruits, leaning towards jammy currant like, tangy spice and lively acidity. Tight tannins took a while to open, medium finish ending with fruit and spice. Good now but a few years in the cellar with reward.

The first time I ever served this wine was at a Mariani family wine dinner when I was still in college - look who came back to me after all these years - hope this doesn't give my ex any ideas...
