Moist leather, dark red fruits, light tannins, immediately approachable. Everything you can want in a cheap restaurant red. Paired to Veal Florentina.

Medium bright ruby colour seems to have lots of youthful energy. Light pleasant aroma of sour cherry, raisin, celery and wet leaves. Dry on the palate with medium body and smooth tannin supporting the lively acidity and minerality. More flavours of sour cherry and raisin on the palate, not too strong and not too light. It is a pleasantly elegant wine to drink in the now.

Second Tasting of the same bottle: interestingly, the aroma became dominated by oaky vanilla with underlying sour cherry blackberry blueberry and prune. Somehow all the elements came together overnight and made it more balanced and layered. It is still elegant but has more depth than first opened. Perhaps I should have aerated it a bit longer before drinking.

Can't beat this fab value, under $15! Juicy w/ soft tannins & mouthwatering acidity...and buckets of wild berries.

Opaque ruby with slight brown rim. Sumptuous nose of dark expresso, cocoa bean, hints of malt and dark chocolate. Very dark forest flavors, tree bark, black currant, primrose acidity, slightly rough tannins, fairly long and boring finish. 84 pts.

Velvety on the palate, smooth tannins. Very nice wine. Would like to try the Amarone. Great price too.

Haven't had this for a while. I have always liked it. 2013 is as good as always.
