Same vintage, but seems much more youthful than the Avignonesi. Very nice!

Cathy likes also. Approachable on opening at a restaurant. Fruity nose. Nice balance of juicy acidity and tannins on the palate with dark cherries, blackberries, fig, leather, some spice. Moderate long finish. Refreshing.

An enjoyable wine with notes of red cherry, fruit tart & milk chocolate. Smooth tannins with a clean berry finish.

One of the issues I have with Italian wines is that they sometimes are generous in green tannins. This one, being 2001, has tamed them, and the wine is drinkable, but the fruit is mostly gone.
