Dark thick purple color; nose of a little oak, pencil and mashed potpourri of pine cones, pine needles, and green herbs; full bodied, medium-high acids and tannins, black currant and forest berries, a good oak integration, and a medium-lengthed finish. Was too powerful for the fine swiss and french cheeses on the table but great on its own.
