Now that Chenin finally have got its big breakthrough, its time to devour in its versatility. Yet it is still flying under the radar for the bigger crowd and there are plenty of bargains around, like the Vincent Careme Vouvray Le Peu Morier. Savoury, tactile, racy and complex with a penetrating acidity, white pears, nectarines, orange caramel is twirling around a core of wet stones, mushrooms, star anise and bees wax. Give it some time in the glass, or even better, in the decanter and it will reward you greatly.

It’s good it’s gold it’s somewhat aged but still sharp on top of honey and apple sauce but enough of an undercurrent of mineral to say “hey I’m Vouvray” so I like this one for the general scrumptious nature and...solid predictability. Goodness. It is good-ness.

Something's rotten in Denmark--er, France. Seriously this smells like a past ripe papaya, rotting stone fruit, decaying flowers, potpourri. And then zing! Bone dry, almost saline on the palate, high acid, savory finish. Gimme some food with this.

Crushed chalk minerality, buttercups, honey and orchard (and a touch of tropical) fruit. Wonderfully balanced texture in the mouth, slick, mineral green apple fruit, ridiculously easy to drink with the richness hiding the acidity well.
