Why can't the other Hoopes wine's be anything like this. The oak is present but doesn't dominate. Very rich blackberry/raspberry, chocolate, dusty, tobacco. Rich tannin structure and balancing acids make this quite delicious

Delicious Cab from the awesome 2013 vintage, a beautiful example of what Oakville terroir can produce in expert hands. Soft, feminine, elegant, notes of dark cherry, raspberry and cocoa powder with lingering tannins. Worth jumping through hoops for! ;)

Had this about a year ago for the first time, revisiting today. Herbal aromas up front. Silky palate with red and blue fruit flavors leading to a mouthwatering finish. I feel like a year in the bottle has benefitted this wine and it will probably continue to improve in coming years.

Big, meaty style. Powerful. Good earthy notes. Very sweet fruit, blackcurrant, vanilla, with a grippy finish. Will be interesting to see where this goes
