Gran Morer Pivol Red Blend 2016

This is a huge wine . I like to say ... It’s a big boys wine ! This 2016 Vintage compared to the 2015 Vintage is in a completely different league . It is a international style wine that is definitely fruit forward . The color is as black as night yielding to a bluish color around the rim . The nose is redolent of dark cherries laced with , espresso , dark chocolate and saddle leather . I find the same when I taste but with a strong line of black licorice “to boot” . The wine has big but round tannins and will most definitely get better with a little more time in the bottle . The finish is close to 40 seconds . All in all this is another excellent wine from The Zaro Family lineup . This wine belongs on the table of most any Great Steak House . I just recently discovered this winery , and I imagine that in the not too distant future everyone will have wished that they bought more of it , especially at today’s prices , because wine this good won’t be this cheap for very long . I guarantee it . — 6 years ago

Insula Refosk 2016

Very pleasant medium- refosk, with a surprising salinity. Very pleasant. Very neutral vinification. Fruit forward. Great simple stuff. — 5 years ago
