Mid-2000s Omega Speedmaster Reduced II 3539.50.

This Guido needs a lot more time for my taste. It opens with promising barnyard aromas that subside and give way to oak -- which are fairly dominant in my opinion. Unripe red fruits, a mineral/metallic cherry taste (I know, makes no sense). Medium bodied, medium alcohol, double dry tannins. Finish of sour cherry.

I will buy another bottle to hold for 2-3 years and expect I'll score it 2 points higher meanwhile in Sept 2020, it's a 91+ on my scale.

For a sub $20 wine, this one is a winner. The varietal originates from the Canary Islands and has been grown in Chile for hundreds of years. 12.5 alcohols makes it a perfect before 5 o'clock glass ;) — 9 years ago
