Yalumba

The Virgilius Eden Valley Viognier 2018

Honeysuckle, unctuous and textural. A medium to full bodied white. Handpicked and wild fermented in old French Oak. Yalumba have now been working with this varietal for 40 years in the Eden Valley which has proven to be an ideal terroir for Viognier. The best example of a straight Viognier available in Australia and Yalumba’s flagship white. — 10 months ago

Castagna

Ingénue Beechworth Viognier 2018

No formal notes. An ok Viognier from a reputable producer in an excellent district as in Beechworth in northern Victoria. Acceptable but doesn’t have the fruit intensity or palate weight of the better examples like Yalumba Virgilius. — 2 years ago

Virgilius

Brindisi Rosso 2018

Violet, earth, pepper, chocolate, nutmeg,... Quite an amazing mix of spices and scents. Full-bodied with a concentration of red and black fruits flavours i.e. those mentioned above. And omg cherry. Lingers joyfully with all the residual sugars popping up. — 4 years ago
