Even at 8 years of age still a very pale yellow. Grapefruit aromas predominant amongst the citrus together with white and yellow flowers. Still tight with citric acid and a good future of say 3 to 5 years. A very minor petro chemical influence (TDN). Refreshing! — 2 months ago
You’d never guess this was from Washington. Bright crunchy acid, red and blue fruit, minor olive and smoked meat. Nothing Jammy or overcooked here. This kept unfurling and becoming more complex throughout the evening, and was excellent with food. Very well made. — 3 months ago
It’s interesting. — 10 days ago
Tasting good. Nose has some flowers, lemon, hay. Palate I keep coming back to beeswax, brioche, honeysuckle, lemon cream, there’s good acidity from underripe pear. Pretty nice to drink. — 2 months ago
Bravo Etude, Bravo!
Outstanding execution here, textbook CA PN w/out being overdone or over extracted: just a gorgeous nose of beautifully ripe cherry, strawberry & red plum, generous warm baking spices, smoky tea, vanilla and more. Intoxicating nose mirrored on palate. Med bodied but so generous it drinks bigger. Smooth suave, freshness abounds, seamless through finish. Only minor point is length of finish gives this away as entry level, but for the price: buy a case. — 2 months ago
Tasting great with some age. Cedar, tobacco, green pepper, plums, chocolate covered tart cherries. More on the herbal/veggie side of Bordeaux blend. I really like this. Probably even better in a few more years. — a month ago
Easily one of the great wines of Italy. Like a cross between Jerez and Chateau Chalon. 18%. Nose has orange/chocolate liqueur, exotic spices, pound cake, minor ethanol (hello 18%), white raspberry, white chocolate, bittersweet cocoa and more. Enormously complex and wafting aromas. Could be a bit colder but always a challenge finding the right temperature to serve these at. Palate is juicy and invigorating with such finesse and a fruit skin complexity. Very concentrated but man what finesse here and just the silkiest texture. Long. Super long. Nose starts to develop sawdust, tree bark and orange rind. The elegance stands out so much and how nimble and light on its feet it is. Always spectacular, delicious and distinctive. Brilliant. Nose develops a honey/sweet truffle thing now with sweet saddle leather as well. Marmalade. — a month ago
