Vignobles Mayard

Clos du Calvaire Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2020

Timothy Eustis

Pretty nose. Shows a fair bit of Mourvèdre. On palate, purple of Syrah and garrigue of Grenache. Nose is more interesting. 2020. Quite fat. 15%. Climate change is real. — 4 months ago

Domaine La Roquète Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2006

2006 vintage. Garnet color, some primary fruit (red cherry, black cherry, plum), but now showing lots of tertiary notes (leather, tobacco, dried herbs, dried fig, prune). 14.5% alcohol, medium acidity, full body. 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre. — 2 months ago

Vignobles Verzier

Chante-Perdrix Granit Saint-Joseph Marsanne Roussanne

Bought a couple of bottles of this for myself. Marsanne-Roussane blend from a biodynamic grower. Wright and body, and a richer fruit profile. Doesn’t have the oak of their Condrieu. — 4 months ago

Vignobles Paul Jeune

Domaine Monpertuis Secret de Gabriel Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhône Blend 2010

Super dusty, would have pegged it for much older. Wet leather, cedar, and cloves. Tasty, but shouldn’t sit for much longer. — 10 months ago
