Une Vallée Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2019

Was this a Rhône blend in a previous vintage, or was I rating another wine? Perhaps the varietals change from year to year, so long as it represents “one valley”, i.e. Walla Walla. Regardless, this vintage is a nice Bordeaux style blend, 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc. Good stuff! It’s a big wine with balanced acidity. I enjoyed this as a cocktail wine. The mouthfeel is rich and thick, but not cloying. The use of oak is admirably restrained. It appreciated in flavor after some decanting. — 5 months ago

Vignobles Paul Jeune

Domaine Monpertuis Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhône Blend 2009

Fresh mulberry, wild blackcap jam. Some sloe gin liquer. Plus classic CDP red plum and garrigue notes. Thas developed really nicely. Excellent acid/ripeness accord, nicely integrated salty sweetness — 4 months ago

Domaine Gallety

Cuvée Spéciale Vallée du Rhône Red Rhone Blend

At this, and maybe most price points, this is goddamn niiiiicccceeee. Earth, leather, a crank of black pepper, cranberry, black cherry, and grapefruit bitters (that came top of kind cuz of a cocktail). Deee-licious. Had it with roast pork chops in a braise of cipollini onions and prunes. — 3 months ago

Vignobles Mayard

Domaine du Père Pape Châteauneuf-du-Pape Grenache Blend 2007

15 yr. CDP. A classic combination of Cinsault - Mourvèdre and Granache . All grapes still doing their job and the tannins are still evident. Still has some more life. Definitely enjoyed this bottle — 5 months ago
