Paolo Bea dinner at Semo. All wines were prepared by opening and slow-ox, prior to service. Abbreviated notes due to the setting. The 2011 pours a deep, hazy garnet with wild notes of Chinato, bruised fruit and leather. Profoundly sensual and also a smash with the quail. Drink now through 2031-ish. We bought this 2012 in the tasting room in Willamette Valley on our honeymoon in August 2013. Glad we waited a few years on this one! Very bright honey suckle and maybe papaya (tasting notes) on the nose. Vanilla and buttery oak on the tongue, but nicely balanced by lemony acidity. Great wine! — 6 years ago
