Blend:78% Cab Sauv from Napa Valley and 22% Shiraz from Central Coast vineyards in the Camatta Hills, planted with Penfold cuttings from So Australia. Deep Ruby with aromas of ripe berry fruits, spice and herbs. On the palate flavors of ripe cherry and blackberry with notes of cinnamon and cacao. Classic Penfolds. 22 years old but still fresh and ruby red. Cabernet shining on the front palate with unctuous chewy tannins at the back fleshed out by spice and chocolate from the Shiraz. So enjoying it! — 6 years ago

Love love Marlborough SB....this wine holds a very special place in my heart. Years ago I was training to run a Marathon and ended up with an injury...not able to run the 22 miler and very frustrated I drank a whole bottle of this....Anyway... this wine in one word... Acid! Also gooseberry..grapefruit..cat box sort of...(yes). So crisp & delicious and can go down way to easy..🤔 — 8 years ago

I bought a dozen of this wine 20 years ago and this is the 10th. Still monolithic and a bit square sided at 22 years of age. Full bodied showing black currant and herbal notes. Silky tannins but finishing a little green - showing over extraction? Next one in a few years but can’t see it changing much. As a general comment I feel that Penfolds jacking the price of 707 currently to around $550 is excessive but good luck to them for selling at this price and bringing closer to the price of Grange.
