Chenin, rousanne, chardonnay, viognier. Full of flavour. Bin end from the Wine Society. Loved it. Drank it slowly over three days and still delicious after being open for a while. — 11 years ago

Perfect way to celebrate Cheltenham winning the league! Crisp, with perfect minerality. Very drinkable — 10 years ago
Lovely dark fruit notes, minty herbal notes, earthy, but full on. Medium bodied, meaty, blackberry, and some good grip. — 11 years ago
Mostly a Bordeaux blend. Powerful with dark fruits and ripe tannins. Good length and complexity. — 7 years ago
Classic Pinot on the nose.
Glorious warm cherries and smoke, on the palate.
Surprisingly great. — 8 years ago
Good depth and not sickly sweet, purple floral notes, dark fruit and sweet berries, toasted smokiness, chocolate, and black pepper. Very intriguing nose. Full, soft tannin, but quite warming. But overlaid with fruit, dark fruit, smoky, toasty notes. — 11 years ago

The fitting of our new kitchen after 13 months without called for some #BigJuice to celebrate. Hence my opening this can of the 2019 ‘Chenin No 5’ from The Liberator, a winemaker with a degree of mystery and intrigue who produce limited runs of different wines as each vintage goes by. I can’t recall when - or why - I bought this can, but it provided an amicable late-evening partnership with a hastily prepared gnocchi after putting our baby to bed.
Certainly can’t complain - this wasn’t bad at all. And, heck, is it good to have a kitchen again! — 2 months ago
