Luminous red. Aromas of wild strawberry, red cherry, cinnamon, vineyard peach, and pink flowers. A sweet explosion of floral red fruits and sweet spices follows through in the rich, suave mouth, firmed by a suggestion of orchard fruit pit. Penetrating and perfumed on the very sweet (240g/L r.s.) and very long finish. Remarkably well balanced (the extremely high but harmonious 9.8g/L total acidity allows this super-sweet to convey a very light on its feet quality), this wine from the beautiful but little-known island of Capraia off the Tuscan coast is an absolute knockout. Made from organically farmed grapes air-dried for 14 days. Will work equally well with a plum crumble or a chocolate cake. (Ian D'Agata, Vinous, October 2017) — 6 years ago
100% Sangiovese. Medium ruby color. Intense aromas of black cherry/currant, graphite and violets. Same fruits on the palate with notes of forest floor, bittersweet chocolate and dried bay leaves. Nice mineral/herbal note on the finish. Dense structure and vibrant acidity. Powerful and complex, but very well balanced. Very “Bordeaux-like.” Tailor-made for the American palate. Thanks for the bottle, Kase! — 3 months ago
Deep dark cherry on the nose, nice mineral-flecked gravel notes. A little tight initially on the palate, it opens slowly to reveal deep savory/dark fruit. Medium low acids, tannins hidden in the deep wash of fruit. Very nice over the next few years. — 6 months ago
Super small production Vermentino from the Isle of Capraia. Mouthwatering acidity, intense minerality and looooong finish. — 10 years ago

3.4. A lovely Chianti, and this vintage is just as nice as previous vintages. On sale for $15.99, regularly $18.99. — a month ago
