This NZ Sauvignon is more balanced and complex than your standard. Hailing from Hawkes Bay which is cooler climate than Marlborough it showcases passionfruit, grapefruit, gooseberry across the nose with a well balanced palate adding a layer of minerality though a smooth finish. Excellent wine and wonderful pairing with fresh tomato basil pasta! [7/18/22] ($11) — 9 months ago
Craggy Range is based in Hawkes Bay but they knew to produce a top quality Pinot Noir they would need to source from elsewhere, so why not the high quality Pinot district of nearby Martinborough in the North Island. Dried red fruits of strawberry and raspberry with a whole bunch influence. Very fluid tannins - could be North or South Island with the flavour profile. Resolved persistent yet soft tannins. On the 2nd night not particularly Pinot Noir. Points off for a ridiculously heavy bottle, trying to justify the $140 price tag. — 2 years ago
Cattail creek wine dinner. Characteristics of pencil lead, tobacco, black cherry, and liquorish. The palate has a lifted acidity and spicy tannins but don't obscure the fruit expression. Paired with petite ribeye en persillade. — 2 months ago
Выпито в горьком одиночестве в ресторане Azure fish Maxx Royal 17.07.23. Ровно 36 лет назад бала наша со Светой свадьба. Как быстро пролетели годы…🥲 — 10 months ago
I can imagine this peppery, herbally wine with Onion soup, crostini, strong cheese…. Or on its own with chocolate chip cookies. — 2 years ago
It is a decent Sav Blanc. Crisp, fruity, dry on the plate. Nice summer wine. — 8 months ago
Wonderful with Pat’s grilled swordfish ($23). Subtle oak barrel toast gives the wine a warm chardonnay feel without being overly oaky. Has a chalky flinty mineral mouth feeling. — 2 years ago
