Very palatable 2017 at 16$. Definitely buying again. — 2 years ago
Warm & elegant with blueberries & cassis, a fresh whiff of violets plus an attractive earthy-herby tone in the background.
On the palate this is fresh with pure fruit, velvety, mouth coating tannins and a minty accent toward the long finish. The 14.5% alc is impeccably integrated.
This is pure hedonistic drinking pleasure, without overdoing it and retaining a elegant frame. A perfect match for a flank steak in black pepper sauce. — 4 years ago
Dark and brooding, the flagship 2017 Lady May from Glenelly is effusive from the first pour, with aromas of black cherry, purple herbs, baking spice and chocolate. The palate is distinctly savoury, with a spicy quality that represents quite a contrast from prior vintages. This is an altogether quite serious offering and perhaps lacks the glossy suave character of, say, the 2015, which I prefer at this stage. But this should be absolutely fantastic in around 5-10 years’ time and I can’t wait to try it again. — 2 months ago
2003 vintage. Also recently tasted 9.26.23 (9.5) and 10.14.23 (9.4). First bottle was sexy, voluptuous and the usual Cos with all the baby fat, even after two decades. 2nd bottle much leaner (9.4) and w/o the baby fat...more minerals afoot. Decanted and immediately tasted, also after 30 mins and after 2 hrs. Massive sed thrown. This bottle in between worlds. Some baby fat, some minerals-still damned delicious and doesn't suck. 10.22.23. — a year ago
