Nice easy red. — 7 years ago
Haven’t had Rulo in a few years and picked this single bottle up on winebid a few months back. Inky in the glass, this massive wine delivered wave after wave of plush black fruit. Had to brush my teeth twice. 😂 I’d forgotten how much I enjoy these - really solid QPR. — 8 years ago

Dense dark purple-red, highly extracted pigment. Herbal and red fruit notes in nose. Black currant flavor, fine grained tannins in finish initially, cranberry aftertaste, high skin astringency. Massive tannins remain after three hours; decant longer else age, age, age this sucker... This could prove a really nice wine for the cellar. Solid seed bitterness backbone in this wine, but the skin and possibly stem astringency is the challenge in deciding whether to opt for aging versus decanting. Great varietal expression nonetheless. A bold yet largely successful take on an old school West Coast varietal. An alternative: decant 24 hours and the flavors are lovely, but the large tannins remain fairly massive. — 7 years ago

Rulo is a subtle wonderful secret in Walla Walla for quality and value. Thoughtful creative winemaking with exacting science. Highly recommend all their wines. This Chardonnay is demonstrative of their exceptional efforts with mild toast, defining acidity , and balance. Cheers! — 12 years ago

Solid if not amazing 2012 Walla Walla Syrah. Has exactly the profiles you might expect of a W2 Syrah: nice chalky grip and silty mouthfeel, strong red fruit profiles, maybe a hint of cassis, and a long, slow fade with tobacco and pepper notes. Yum! — 10 years ago
