The hotel dropped off a bottle to help us celebrate the arrival at the Great Barrier Reef — 5 years ago
Very very smooth wine — 6 years ago
It seems that in three years from the 1991 I tasted last week The winemaking is completely changed.
Far too oaky, it had the fruit right in my opinion, but not the care I found in the previous bottle from Rothbury
Apparently after Len Evans left the company things changed

Australians sitting in a barnyard chewing on dark fruit. Was a nice way to celebrate sailing under a bridge. — 4 years ago
The label is barely there, but i bought in the James Halliday's collection auction as a Wood Matured Black label 1979.
At this stage I opened a few of these old semillon and I am honestly loving them even though i realise that not everyone would.
Once they get to room temperature the magic happens.
This is complex and fairly fresh, not gone at all.
I smell almond, bruised apples, nutmeg, ginger, turmeric, lanolin, coriander. Autumn forest floor and boiled chestnuts. Nougat and marzipan. Peppermint.
It's very long. It's an experience. It talks its own language. I don't think there is anything like it anywhere else. 41yo, nearly my age, but much more interesting than me. — 4 years ago
Last of a very economical batch from this winery and probably the best
Silky tannin, long, beautiful robe of a still shining crimson red
Still up and going for a while I would say
It kept me entertained for a couple of episodes of my favourite series of the moment, the Blacklist 😱😂😱
Had a great time the two of us 😜 — 6 years ago
100% Hunter Semillon
At peak after 41 years, no bad
It has just the universe in the glass
From lemon meringue to lanolin, a little toasty ginger, lemongrass, white pepper, coriander and.....
The balance is magnificent
The nose seems on the sweet side and so might appear the first sip, but the finish is loooong and dry. The magic. Best semillon I bought so far from the James Halliday's collection and it will be hard to match — 4 years ago
