Costamiòle Superiore Nizza Barbera d'Asti 2011

Lusciously fruity and earthy at the same time. On the nose there are notes of black cherry and wet leaves/forest floor. Still more fresh black fruit on the palate, a little bit of vanilla incense and violets. Quite decent acidity with silky tannins and med + alcohol which is balanced nicely. Warm vibrant Ruby color with a bouquet of berry fruit aromas and sweet perfumed herb spice. On the palate flavors of plum, cherry and blackberry with pepper and herbs, good structure, balanced with savory acidity and soft tannins. Medium+ finish ending with juicy fruit. at wset level 2 course (6th meeting)
the class subject was 🇮🇹
four reds were poured

my guess was that it'll probably be nebbiolo, barbera, sangiovese and amarone. i came close.

besides the one with appassimento treatment guessing what is each one is far behind my tastebuds (for now 😊)

pale ruby red 👀

🍓, vanilla, 🥥, earth, tobacco and some wood 👃

high acidity.
low tannins.
medium body.

red fruit, earth and some oak 👄

medium 🎯

very pleasent for me.
