I pulled something absolutely beautiful Friday night. Even though 2015 was declared as the greatest vintage ever for Brunello, the 2016s must come in as a close second greatest.

2016 Azidenda Agricola Pietroso, Riserva, Brunello di Montalcino. I received this wine as part of the @antica_terra Collective Membership’s second shipment. Antica Terra described this wine as “not the brooding, rich and dense side of Brunello. This high-toned beauty, is ready for enjoyment now.” The nose on this was incredible. I couldn’t help but smile while enjoying this one with a friend.

The 2022 Rosso di Montalcino is cool-toned and fresh, with a cascade of perfumed florals, white smoke and dried strawberries forming its bouquet. It is soft-textured and round, with vibrant acidity and juicy wild-berry fruits that cascade throughout.
