$20.00🤷🏼‍♂️ At the end of summer in 1999, Pierre Signolle takes over the Château Vieux Landat. After working in viticulture for 10 years, he is ready to start a new adventure. Thus, starts a huge modernization project.
Years after years the vineyard is rejuvenated. Between 2000 and 2010, half of the vineyard is replanted with a majority of Merlot to give rounder wines. A new grape variety is also introduced: Petit Verdot.

After the vineyard, the winery is also redesigned. A big winery of 1200m2 is built to foster the harvest in the best possible conditions.
Temperature controlled vessels are installed to vinify the wines at low temperatures.

In 2015, Pierre's wife, Sophie Signolle, and her children, Nicolas and Diane, take over the management of the vineyard and continue the investments in the winery and the vineyard.

At Château Vieux Landat we practice a sustainable viticulture. Natural grass growing all year long in the middle of the rows enables microbial soil life. Under the vines rows, we practice mecanical weeding. The objective is, on the one hand, to give strengh to the vine by avoiding competing grass. And, on the other hand, to aerate the folliage and the bunches to avoid disease.

During the months of the vine's dormancy, our sheeps are the one taking care of the vineyard.

An absolutely breathtaking #biodynamic wine of great purity, intricacy and finesse. Non interventionist winemaking allows the defining characteristics of this region to shine through. Delicate plum and cherry, complimented by a touch of black pepper and cigar box. The elegant, feminine nature of this wine may be attributed to the fact that it's made by a woman-Jacqueline Andre, Pierre's daughter who is carrying on the family tradition. — 8 years ago

A rich Gevry-Chambertin from Lucien Boillot. I've had a lot of Pierre's brother, Louis (married to a true Mistress of Wine, Ghislaine Barthod), but this is the first of my Lucien Boillot's made by Pierre. I think I like the quality and price:quality a bit more than the Louis Boillot (his prices have gone up since he left the Rosenthal stable). Fragrant, dark cherry, cranberry, earth, and some leather and mushroom on the nose and palate. Clean, deep red color. — 7 years ago

"Marie-Pierre's family has been making wine in the Macon since 1871 and her sustainable vineyards yield some really beautiful, terroir-driven white Burgundies of exceptional value. Her elegant Saint-Véran Chardonnay is super clean and precise, with great minerality and acidity and the tiniest oak influence that just slightly soften out the edges. I love a wine that tastes more expensive than the price tag it wears, and this Chard totally slays! Since 1750 the Gimonnet family have been vine growers in the village of Cuis, supplying the great Champagne houses with grapes up until the 1930's recession, when sales fell. Today the estate is run by Pierre's sons, Michel and Didier, and in 1987 acquired the house of Larmandier Père et Fils based in Cramant. Classic BdB, light and refreshing, great balance, complex with perfectly ripe fruit, bubbles and mousse. Lingering finish with bright mineral ending. — 7 years ago
