Deep, dark, very jammy, miss photogenic if a Beaty pageant. Not overwhelming. Not earthy. Smooth on palate. Velvety. — 11 years ago
#atlasofwine felt like taking a good picture tonight! I've been calling Atlas "The Superlative Kitten" because of our calling him the fluffiest, handsomest, cuddliest cat. He's also the most photogenic. (Proud dad disclosure.) McLaren Vale shiraz here and a darn good one! Loaded up on the lavender/violet, ripe forest blueberry jam with fresh cracked white pepper, dare I say eucalyptus, mint jelly, sandalwood. The palate delivers fresh dark fruit and is drier than expected. 👏🏼 — 7 years ago
Figured it was time for our dogs to make their Delectable debut after seeing @Carl Fischer 's photogenic pups!
As for this wine, it is my favorite Zinfandel. Always has been. Don't see how something can beat it. For the '14 vintage, they moved away from Napa and sourced from Alexander Valley...was hesitant it wouldn't live up to past vintages, but I was relieved. Ruby red in to the glass. A rockin bouquet that can be smelt far away of boysenberries, blueberries, and black licorice. So beautifully integrated on the palate with candied almonds, cherry pie, and Cedar. If anyone thinks they've tasted a mind blowing zin, I'd love to know so I could compare it against this. Love all of Jessup's wine. — 7 years ago
