Old school showing restraint and tradition. However, the fruit is a bit muted cherry and takes a backseat to earthy tones of forest floor, leather, and dried herbs. Tannins are firm yet balanced, and the finish carries a touch of tar and rose.

Riserva Dei Padre Serviti 2016. Dark ruby coloration. On the nose, cherry, leather; on the palate, cherry, plum, leather, oak. Strong tannins. Finish of cherry and vanilla. The more it opened up the more balanced it became. Notes of anise and florals presented. Tannins calmed. Much more balanced, full bodied. Quite powerful. — 5 years ago

Mature with brick hue and nose of mature brambles, sometimes you just know you have your hands on something special and you know it won’t be repeated any time soon
