What a classic(o). Masi calls this their gentle giant and that’s pretty accurate. Pale in complexion and and soft to drink, but still powerful and sophisticated.

Gentle light orange and brick hues. Leather and earth, dried fruits, some tobacco and smoky notes. Really soft and round acidity, but still medium bodied and great tannic qualities that play nicely with the cherries and tomato vine flavors that stand out. Good long finish. 2018 vintage. Explosive but overtly chunky vs deeply grippy. Tasted after being opened approx 30 mins. Needed 7-10 hours of serious airing or a dedicated, triple-decant + air + time. Maybe gets to 9.6 with all that? Body medium-heavy w/o being syrupy. — 9 months ago
