What a classic(o). Masi calls this their gentle giant and that’s pretty accurate. Pale in complexion and and soft to drink, but still powerful and sophisticated.
Gentle light orange and brick hues. Leather and earth, dried fruits, some tobacco and smoky notes. Really soft and round acidity, but still medium bodied and great tannic qualities that play nicely with the cherries and tomato vine flavors that stand out. Good long finish. Worth the hype. — 10 months ago
2018 vintage. Explosive but overtly chunky vs deeply grippy. Tasted after being opened approx 30 mins. Needed 7-10 hours of serious airing or a dedicated, triple-decant + air + time. Maybe gets to 9.6 with all that? Body medium-heavy w/o being syrupy. — 8 months ago
The “King of Chardonnay” Mike Grgich farms w/o pesticides and certified organic. Aged 10 months, no MLF. Medium lemon color with aromas of stone & citrus fruits. On the palate flavors of apple, pear & lemon citrus flavors, with honeysuckle, vanilla & toasty oak notes. Nice balance with acidity on long finish with a toasty mineral ending. Not your typical CA Chard, very nice! — 10 months ago

— 10 months ago
