Photo is of the 2018 Petite Syrah. We loved this one! — 4 years ago
Continuing our daily quarantine ritual of enjoying something from the “cellar” for happy hour, this is the best so far (out of many very good bottles). Simply heavenly: perfectly balanced depth and brightness. — 5 years ago
Noisy. Crisp and crinkle-y. Soda sounds that taper to cellophane. Ruby grapefruit-guava juice opacity and color with a nest of bubbles clinging to the sediment below. Quick flash of spitting white, then planar save for the razor bumps of isolated bubbling. Sweet apricot and nectarine entertain wild orange blossom and grapefruit bitters while peach is pickled in dark-toasted oak. Pepper, cedar, ginger, and a sprinkle of nutmeg with masking balsamic. Grippy citrus shocks electrically, initially, calming in subsequent revisits. Intense lemon, white pepper, unsweetened cranberry sourness, grapefruit pith, pickled peach-ripe kumquat combo, orange peel, lemon peel, and lime juice with the rounding influence of the oak smoothing the sharpest citrus crystals into a smooth and zesty, balanced and zippy, grand finale. Not for the faint of tart. — 5 years ago
This medium bodied, dry wine has hints of berry and vanilla. Too expensive to share so enjoy on your own! — 3 years ago
If I was a man of greater means, this tasting would represent an annual ritual of sampling. As it was, we got a one time peek into the upward climb of such intensity and focus- all coiled violets and crushed black fruits. It’s so coiled it almost snarls in the glass. Part 5 of the first half of guys weekend. — 4 years ago
Delicious. A nose is full of a blackberry and a leather. I should mention, this wine needs a decantation. A palate is complex. For the first glass I thought that it’s chaotic: a strong alcohol, “noisy” fruits and tannins (that’s why decantation is needed). But after some time it presents itself with a good balance between tannins and fruits. The finish is long and spicy (a pepper). — 5 years ago

AMAZING BORDEAUX that’s still able to shine, decanted, after a few hours of opening! In ritual notes of damp leather, subdued / dried fruits and felt past its prime. 2 hours later - completely blossomed into this robust, aged, beautiful almost “fruit forward” masterpiece with almost olive overtones. I’m sure it was a great bottle 10, 20, even 30 years ago - but now it’s almost better as it’s transformed into this subtle, wonderful wine which was able to hold its own against aged cheese and roasted beef. A true treasure I’m glad we uncorked!! (BTW - cork was LONG - get your longest screw out for this one)!!! — 2 years ago
