Wild raspberries and luxardo cherries. Light-skinned/light-bodied, great acidity. — 7 years ago
Great elegant silky dry wine, tobacco, cedar, spicy and dark fruit notes
Dark garnett with brownish hues, full body, the glass is full of legs hanging on
Not very expressive on the nose but there are nice notes of tobacco, spices and cedar
So great on the palate, dry attack, firm tannins, great acidity denoting long time ahead on the bottle, dark fruits, spicy, mineral, licorize and cedar notes
Great on the aftertaste, long lingering finish with balsamic and mineral notes — 8 years ago
This is Marañones’ “village” red, made with mostly Garnacha (90%) and some other local varieties like Morenillo. Fermented and aged in oak foudre. Aromas of red fruit, floral notes. Light-bodied, ethereal. — 2 years ago
Had this 2 yrs ago. Mather Teresina, flagship wine of Celler Vinos Piñol, made with grapes grown in high elevation region of Terra Alta. The nearly extinct Morenillo grape is indigenous to the area & makes Mather Teresina a unique wine, a blend of 50% Garnacha, 30% Cariñena & 20% Morenillo. Nice aromas of berries & sweet spice. On the palate cherry flavors with vanilla spice adding pepper notes on fine smooth tannins which opened much quicker. Long ending with sweet fruit tones & bits of earthy floral. — 5 years ago
Very autochthonous! Red wild berries with a lot of chestnuts. Good balanced, but very unusual due to variety. — 7 years ago
