A very good take on Syrah , especially considering that it came from chilly Washington. Lighter color than usual , bright and fruity on the nose , nice long finish. Apparently aging it for 14 years really mellows it out nicely! — 5 years ago

K Syrah Milbrandt Wahluke Slope 2015 out of Seattle Washington. The color is so dark for a Syrah. I would guess its a California Cab. The bouquet is blackberry cobbler and black licorice. The initial palate is blackberry, boysenberry, and black plumbs. The mid palate brings in large amounts of spice and everything nice. There is chocolate and oak. The finish is long and dry with more black plumb ending into a dry tart bliss. I must have another sip at once!! It is not as heavy as ai would expect from all these flavors. It is the PERFECT Syrah! I want a case of this amazing wine... — 9 years ago

Washington State Syrah from the Wahluke Slope AVA. Dark ruby color with a few black highlights. Aromas of cooked blue and black fruit, wet soil, purple flowers and smoked meat. Flavors of blackberry/blueberry jam, black olives, dark chocolate, dried herbs and roasted nuts. A bit of black pepper spice on the long and deeply concentrated mineral laden finish. Medium-plus body with slightly chewy fine grained tannins. Well balanced acidity and a slightly creamy texture. Quite good. Memorial Day 2026. — a month ago
