Mighty Swell

Brander

F/Red Red Blend 2019

Mighty tasty stuff! An easy drinker of a blend, soft and medium-bodied. Leads with plenty of black and red fruit notes and a welcoming pyrazine punch on the finish.

50% Cab Sauv, 22% Merlot, 21% Cab Franc, 6% Syrah, 1% Malbec.

Lalande de Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

I haven’t had a nice Bordeaux in a while but i typically cruise the affordable side, hoping for gems. This was a pleasant surprise. Some wood and perfume on the nose. Dark fruit, I saw someone said cassis and I can go with that - full body but with some brightness and good structure. Noticeable but integrated tannins… I’m in a good state of mind and this is brining a swell of life appreciation - can’t prove that’s on account of this exact wine but that’s the black magic of it all, eh? — 2 years ago

Nota Bene Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2006

Our last bottle from ‘08. Thoroughly enjoyed this case. IMO it peaked a few years ago, but still drinking mighty fine. Paired tonight with a bbq tomahawk. — 5 years ago

This wine is wild in every sense of the word. The fruit is fierce and up front while also bringing a unique profile that feels foreign and exotic. It’s right up front with a huge swell of red fruit and then finishing with some moderate tannins. Ample acidity and the alcohol is in a great place under 13% — 6 years ago
