Meander Cellars

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Dark muddy ruby color. (Wine was not filtered). Tertiary notes come flying out of the glass (wet soil, tobacco dried violets) with a hint of dried black fruit. Dried blackberry and prune on the palate with additional touches of dark chocolate, beef jerky and oak. Nice balance. I honestly thought that this was an Old World wine. Well crafted. Interesting wine, John B! — 9 months ago

Marchesi de' Frescobaldi

Lucente La Vite Toscana SuperTuscan Blend 2013

I knew I was going to enjoy this immediately, but it took a 45 minute meander before it really got there. Modern, but maintains an authentic SuperTuscan style, if that can actually be a thing... suffice to say, I wouldn't call it international, but oak and ripe fruit make their presence known. Plush, dark fruit of a medium weight meets lively acidity, with a noticeable, but not imposing amount of tannin. The balance helps draw your focus to the secondary notes of Genoa and even Finocchiona, along with plenty of spices, and tertiary cedar and cocoa powder. — 7 years ago

Le Chavigne Mâcon-Pierreclos Chardonnay 1995

Meander honey? Insane length. Hard to call the flavor profile, some honey, some stone, no fruit per se. Very alive. — 2 years ago

Kingston Estate

Limited Release Blanc de Noir 2008

Aged sir lie for 26 months, King Estate's 2008 Limited Edition Blanc De Noirs is finely wrought, with a delicate bead that gives lift to baked apples and orchard fruit notes, followed by buckwheat, dried marjoram, and whipped butter. Nice concentration on the palate, with eccentric rings of kumquat, sea foam, and walnut skins that impart a subtle and delicate bitterness as they meander to a long, protracted close. 13.5% ABV | Sample — 7 years ago
