Lou Taissou Saint Joseph Syrah 2020

Jan A
9.2

Already developed into drinking window. Sometimes you have these wines that do not tip the high rating scales, not overly complex, layered or standout elements. No, this is just really well balanced and giving a lot of pleasure and easy drinking.

Funny fact: This cuvee name means badger in Occitan, a wink at the animal who eats Jean-Francois' grapes.. 🦡

Lou Maset Coteaux du Languedoc Montpeyroux 2021

A bit bitter on its own, balances itself out when paired with a fatty meat (in this case, a Basque region raised pork loin). — 6 months ago

Mouressipe (Alain Allier)

Lou Cantoun White Blend 2021

Interesting blend of Clairette, Chardonnay, Chasselas, and Cinsault. Quite a bit of sediment. Fun to try. — a year ago

Léa Sélection Fixin Pinot Noir 2010

2022/5/31-6/1 with ayu karaage, hachiku several ways, niku-dofu, etc. This is my favorite of the lower-priced Léa reds - there’s really nice acidity and flesh, and enough age to be fully open with hints of complexity but still with vibrant fruit. Really good on day 2 as well. — 2 years ago

Marsannay Pinot Noir 2018

Much better than the first bottle especially on the palate. Bright and juicy. The vintage fruit sweetness does seep through with air though. Nose was the same as my previous note. Delicious with our meaty dinner. — 21 days ago

Acidic and citrusy, tart forward but light and fizzy, what you'd want from a summer pet nat. — 2 years ago

Lou Coucardié Costières-de-Nîmes Red Rhone Blend

Dark red fruits, dark chocolates and some meaty aromas. This is a great wine that will get better with age. We’re going to enjoy this with Christmas leftovers! — 6 months ago

Costières-de-Nîmes Lou Coucardie Blanc

Potent yellow colour. Rich, almost Chardonnay like despite being a mix of roussanne-Grenache blanc-Viognier, and string body. I really like this one. 4/2-2023 (home) — a year ago
